Tracy Morgan performs during Hot 97 Presents April Fools Comedy Show at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on April 1, 2016 in New York City.

*Tracy Morgan is in talks to star opposite Ed Helms and Amanda Seyfried in writer/director Dito Montiel’s new comedy “The Clapper,” reports Deadline.com.

Adapted from Montiel’s own book of the same name, the story follows a professional clapper for infomercials who gets plucked by a late night talk show host to be on his TV show. That notoriety then ends up costing him personally. The film is said to be a testament of how easily fame is achieved in today’s reality-program driven society and how it can complicate ordinary people’s lives.

Morgan will play Helms’ best friend Chris Plork who is a loyal and devoted confidante and provides much of the humor and charm of the script, according to Deadline.

Morgan will be on his stand-up tour “Picking Up the Pieces” in June so the production is going to work around his schedule.

Morgan is also shooting a comedy pilot for FX Networks this summer. This after a year of physical rehab following the deadly car accident that nearly took his life. The film follows an appearance at the Emmys in September, a hosting gig on “Saturday Night Live” and an appearance last weekend on Oprah Winfrey’s “Super Soul Sunday.”

Morgan recently wrapped production on “Fist Fight” with Ice Cube and Charlie Day. The comedian is also attached to star in The Weinstein Co.’s Richard Pryor biopic “Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?” as Redd Foxx opposite Mike Epps as Pryor.
