Watch Amandla Stenberg’s Film School Submission ‘Blue Girls Burn Fast’

*Amandla Stenberg, 17, has just written, produced, directed and edited another film short – this time as part of her application for entrance into NYU’s prestigious film school.

Titled “Blue Girls Burn Fast,” the 19-minute short debuted on her Vimeo page Wednesday, which she shared via Instagram with the caption, “It’s very personal to my heart.”

As for the film’s synopsis, she would only teas:  “Sometimes our emotions are our best friends.”

Two years ago, at age 15, Stenberg wrote, directed, shot and edited the 13-minute short “The Yellow Wallpaper,” based on the short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman about a woman suffering from mental illness who moves into an old house to help clear her mind.

As previously reported, Stenberg is set to star in George Tillman Jr.’s #BlackLivesMatter film based on the novel ‘The Hate U Give’ by Angela Thomas; and she’s in talks to star in Amma Asante’s period romance, ”When Hands Touch.”

She also recently launched a new comic book franchise titled “NIOBE: She is Life,” which she co-wrote with Sebastian A. Jones.
