*Virginia congressional candidate Mike Webb got caught surfing porn on his computer (allegedly) when he shared a screenshot on Facebook that inadvertently showed open tabs of adult websites.
Mike Webb, who is reportedly running for Congress as an independent in Virginia after a failed Republican primary, posted several screenshots to his campaign’s Facebook page while trying to accuse his opponent Matt Wavro of prank calling him about a job opportunity. But along with photos of his phone bill were two tabs – labeled “LAYLA RIVERA HOT BO..” and “IVONE SEXY AMATEUR.”
The screenshot remained on his Facebook page for five hours on Monday before it was deleted – he claims by Facebook, and against his wishes. But the original post has since been restored. See below:
When news of his porn tabs broke Monday, Webb said the XXX sites were on his computer strictly for “research.” The congressional candidate said he was testing out theories on how his computer got 4,800 viruses.
On Tuesday, he said he did not directly log onto “LAYLA RIVERA TIGHT” and “IVONE SEXY AMATEUR,” but actually clicked on it after going down a porn rabbit hole.
“I found it by a dating website,” he told the New York Daily News. “They had a link to another website so I said, ‘let’s check that out.’”
“I don’t think we did anything wrong,” he said. “Even if I was on a porn site, being a Christian doesn’t mean that you’re perfect.”
Webb says he’s proud that his mistake reached about 500,000 people before it was deleted (and since restored), and helped him gain up to 500 more likes on his Facebook page.
Webb is running for U.S. Congress in Virginia’s 8th district.
