*The auction for the gun George Zimmerman used to kill Trayvon Martin has been cancelled, according to TMZ.

Martin’s family reportedly reached out to the GunBroker.com website Thursday seeking contact info for the auction officials, but the family’s legal team never demanded the auction be pulled, according to the website.

As previously reported, Zimmerman planned to auction the Kel Tec 9mm gun with a starting bid of $5,000. The proceeds, he said, would go in part toward “fighting the Black Lives Matter movement and Hillary Clinton’s gun control policies.”

The family attorney told TMZ: “It is insulting to this family that he would decide that he would sell the gun that he killed their child with. Think about what that means: This is a gun that took a child’s life and now he wants to make money off of it.”
