*As previously reported, Grammy-winner Kelly Rowland is on a quest to find the next big female group with BET, and her new reality series, “Chasing Destiny,” aims to not only create an inspiring music group for this generation, but it will also allow Kelly to relive her prime when she was touring the world and creating music magic with Destiny’s Child. In a sense, putting this series together has made Kelly realize just how much she misses Beyonce and Michelle Williams.
“It’s what we’re used to right now. And like I said, there’s nothing wrong with it. But I think it’s time for another generation to see women coming together. I think it’s time for another generation to see camaraderie. I think it’s time for another generation to hear voices together. To hear the power of it, how exciting it is. How it’s a force on stage. That is something that is missed. Hell, I miss it,” Rowland told BET’s President of Programing Stephen Hill at South by Southwest.

“In the series, these singing hopefuls will vie their way to stardom with recording mogul Rowland helping them to find their voice as entertainers,” the network said in a statement.
When “Chasing Destiny” was initially announced, Kelly revealed that she was inspired to produce her own music competition show after serving as a judge on the US and UK versions of the “X Factor.”
“When Destiny’s Child was around I remember there was Xscape, there was SWV, there was En Vogue, there was the Cheetah Girls,” she said. “There were all these different types of groups, and these different types of girls groups, and there’s just one (now) – you’re kidding me? Like, get out of here. It should definitely be more.”
Page Six notes that While Rowland didn’t go into too much detail with Hill about the 10-episode series, she did talk about what her all girl group must possess if they want to succeed.
“Confidence. They better be able to sing their butts off — and these girls can sing their faces off. And work ethic. I think the difference between Destiny’s Child and anyone else, we just outworked everybody,” she said.
