Prince Entered Treatment Program for Hip Pain & Medication Use

*According to KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, Prince, before he died on April 21 at age 57, entered an out-patient treatment program.

The report goes on to say that the musical genius was looking for a solution for his chronic hip pain and hoped to “move away from” medication he was using to treat that pain

The singer also experienced an overdose of the opioid painkiller Percocet days before his death, reports TMZ which was the first to report his plane making an emergency landing in Illinois following a concert in Atlanta days before his death.

In fact, he reportedly had painkillers in his possession when he was found dead. Police are reportedly investigating the possibility of an overdose.

Prince was found unresponsive in the elevator of his Paisley Park home in Minnesota. Responders were unable to revive him.

The results of an April 22 autopsy are pending.

Court papers filed by his sister Tyka state that the musician did not leave a will. Bremer Trust has been appointed temporary administrator to his estate, The court papers state that Bremer Bank had provided financial services to the singer for a number of years.
