*Radio Stations across the United States will play Prince’s song “Nothing Compares 2 U” at exactly 6:07 p.m. EST today (May 4), exactly seven hours and 13 days since the singer’s death.

KCMP (89.3 The Current) in Minneapolis came up with the idea to match the time since his death with the opening line of “Nothing Compares 2 U”: “It’s been seven hours and 13 days.”

“We just wanted to honor the man we called our friend, and the music we all love,” KCMP program director Jim McGuinn told Billboard, “and thought that maybe we might be able to get radio stations all over the world to share this moment with fans who are missing this great artist.”

WFUV New York, WXPN Philadelphia and KEXP Seattle have already reportedly confirmed to join the simulcast, according to Billboard.

People are encouraged to listen to a local participating station or stream thecurrent.org/listen, as well as tweet, Facebook or Instagram clips of themselves singing along, using the hashtag #NothingCompares2U.

Prince penned “Nothing Compares 2 U” in the 1980s. Sinead O’Connor took to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks in 1990; Prince’s version reached No. 62 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in 1994.
