Sinead O’Connor Being Sued By Arsenio Hall for Defamation

Sinead and Arsenio

*This will probably comes as little to no surprise. Former late night talk show guru, Arsenio Hall, was named as a supplier of drugs to the late music icon, Prince, by Irish singer Sinead O’Connor recently. And now Hall has filed a lawsuit for defamation of character.

Though no toxicology reports have been released as of this writing, O’Connor made comments on her Facebook page after it was reported that the Drug Enforcement Administration and the U. S. Attorney’s office joined the investigation into the musicians death, saying strict attention will be paid to drugs prescribed to Prince.

In that FB post, she wrote the comedian had supplied Prince with illegal drugs “over the decades.”

“Two words for the DEA investigating where prince got his drugs over the decades… Arsenio Hall (AKA Prince’s and Eddie Murphy’s b****). Anyone imagining prince was not a long time hard drug user is living in cloud cuckoo land.” The singer added, “Arsenio I’ve reported you to the Carver County Sheriff’s office. Expect their call. They are aware you spiked me years ago at Eddie murphy’s house. You bet get tidying your man cave.”

O’Connor, whose version of the song, “Nothing Compares 2 U” written by Prince as a side project, was overwhelmingly received by radio and placed in heavy rotation. The accompanying video has been deemed “iconic.”

In his legal filing, Hall calls O’Connor, who has been reportedly diagnosed as bipolar, a “desperate attention-seeker,” and insists he hasn’t been in contact with her for 25 years. The comedian also claims in court papers that O’Connor “detested” Prince, which is one of the reasons she’s lashing out against the late singer. Hall added in his $5 million suit, “[She’s] well known for her media antics and for seeking attention through inflammatory Facebook posts.”
