*There’s something about the trailer for NBC’s upcoming series “This Is Us” that has struck a chord with viewers on Facebook.
The 2 minute 30 second clip has crossed the 25 million views mark in four days, a feat never accomplished by a rookie show during upfront week, according to Deadline.com.
“This Is Us,” which follows the intertwining lives of three people who share the same 36th birthday, lacks any huge superstar or title, but still managed to destroy the previous record of $4.1 million views during the seven days of upfront week for the CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow.”
Sterling K. Brown, who played Christopher Darden in FX’s “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” stars as one of three main characters turning 36 in the pilot. Sterling plays a man dealing with the new discovery of his birth father, who abandoned him on the steps of a firehouse when he was born.
Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley and Chrissy Metz co-star. Milo and Mandy play a married couple about to have triplets, Justin plays an actor and Chrissy’s character battles an eating addiction.
Facebook views for the trailer also surpassed the trailer for Fox’s return of “Prison Break,” which is currently at second place with 22 million views.
