*Tyler Perry‘s 35,000 square foot Atlanta mansion has sold for $17.5 million, and is said to be the highest price ever paid for a home this size in Atlanta. Perry had originally listed the home for $25 million. The palatial estate, located on West Paces Ferry Road rests on top of a hill with an amazing view, and boasts a humongous 2-3 story fireplace, theater room, lighted tennis courts, infinity pool, fountains, and a gorgeous front staircase leading to the home’s front entrance. The residence also includes seven bedrooms, nine full bathrooms (along with five half baths), gardens, and a ballroom.

If reports by zillow.com are true, and Perry did purchase the home for $7.6 million, he has made an astounding profit. But of course this depends on the loads of money he has also put into it.

tyler-perry-kitchenAJC reports Perry is a property owner in Douglasville, Georgia, where his Tyler Perry Studios is located. He also has a 22-acre Tuscan-style villa on Beverly Ridge Terrace in Beverly Hills and a place in NYC. And reports say he’s been acquiring land in Douglas County (Georgia) near Sweetwater Creek State Park and I-20.

Perry’s homes are known for their breathtaking views. In April 2007, he sold an ocean front house in Malibu, which property records reveal was sold for $4,800,048. His 9,000 square-foot Hollywood Hills mansion, which had its own gym, a sauna, and a nightclub complete with a bar and disco ball, not to mention  incredible views of the city and the Pacific Ocean, sold for $11.5 million in February 2013.

On the other hand, it’s worth noting that Perry has always been open about his humble beginnings, which often included living out of a car.
