*Comedian Lil Rel Howery of NBC’s “The Carmichael Show” was arrested for misdemeanor battery Sunday night after a traffic scuffle in his Chicago hometown.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the 36-year-old was riding in a car that was involved in a collision. Chicago police say that when the other driver called 911, Howery punched him in the face.

Then, the driver of the vehicle Howery had been riding in drove off, leaving him alone at the scene. The actor was released early Monday on $1,500 bond, the paper reported.

Police say the man who was punched was treated at the scene for a minor abrasion.

Howery plays the character Bobby Carmichael on “The Carmichael Show.”
