*Miramax has released the first poster for its romantic drama “Southside With You,” starring Parker Sawyers and Tika Sumpter as Barack and Michelle Obama in a story about their first date during the summer 1989.
Sumpter is also a producer on the film, which is due in theaters August 2016.
Richard Tanne directs. John Legend serves as an executive producer and performs the film’s end title song, “Start.”
Miramax is partnering with Roadside Attractions on the theatrical release of the IM Global-backed film, which made its World Premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival were it drew rave reviews.
