Kanye West’s Surprise Concert Attempt Fails When Chaos Erupts

*Kanye West was supposed to play a surprise pop-up concert in New York City early Monday, but it never happened because thousands of fans tipped on social media stormed the venue causing havoc.

According to the New York Daily News, more than 4,000 people swarmed Webster Hall, which only holds 1,500. They climbed on top of cars, dumpsters and scaffolding and hung out of windows hoping to get a better view.

West hinted on social media that he was going to do a 2 a.m. show at the venue. His Governors Ball appearance Sunday had been canceled due to the weather.

But shortly before 2 a.m., Webster Hall tweeted that there would be no show.

Police made one arrest for disorderly conduct while dispersing the crowd.
