*BET insisted their Prince tribute would be better than Madonna’s offering at last month’s Billboard Music Awards, and judging from the list of performers announced today, the network can’t help but make good on the promise.

Sheila E., The Roots, D’Angelo, Alicia Keys, Maxwell and Janelle Monae will perform in honor of the late music icon at the June 26th BET Awards in Los Angeles.

Prince, who died April 21 at age 57, received the BET Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010.

In May, Madonna closed out the Billboard Awards with a Prince tribute that did not go over well with many Prince fans. After Questlove said a few words about his purple idol, Madonna performed “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “Purple Rain” with a surprise assist from Stevie Wonder.

Shortly after the performance, BET famously tweeted, “”Yeah, we saw that. Don’t worry. We Got You.”

“Black-ish” stars Tracee Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson will host for the second consecutive year, and both are nominees in their respective acting categories.

“I can’t wait to host the BET Awards again with Anthony, who I always have a blast working with,” Tracee said in a statement. “The BET Awards is going to knock it out of the park again with a night full of amazing performances and presenters being honored in music, movies, television, and sports.”
