*Amazing Grace Conservatory is pleased to announce it has received $9,600 grant from California Arts Council “Local Impact,” a state agency, these funds will support Amazing Grace Conservatory performing arts program.

Amazing Grace Conservatory (AGC) is a theatrical training institute in located in South Los Angeles dedicated to building self-esteem through self-expression.

AGC offer high quality, affordable performing arts training to youth and emerging artists, ages “5 to18” in an atmosphere filled with positive images of themselves and their community.

AGC provides opportunities for artistic development, creative expression, and self-discovery. Students attend an array of classes in acting, voice, dance, audition techniques and technical theater taught by industry professionals, who both educate and mentor.

AGC is committed to furthering education in the arts by offering scholarships for well-deserving graduating seniors. Some of our recipients have attended Yale, Julliard, NYU-Tisch School of the Arts, Howard University and Carnegie Mellon. We make every effort to educate and enlighten our students through the work that we produce.

With the support from the California Arts Council, Amazing Grace Conservatory will provide training for 200 youth in the underserved communities of South Los Angeles.

This high-quality, year-round performing arts instruction and educational enrichment program, allows youth to develop and express their creative and artistic abilities, grow and flourish as artists, while gaining access to performing arts opportunities and careers.

In keeping with AGC’s mission, these students will graduate with a new and comprehensive insight that will prove invaluable as they navigate their road to achieving higher education in the professional world of the performing arts.

“Amazing Grace Conservatory is excited and grateful to receive our first California Arts Council grant.  AGC is committed to furthering the arts and education by providing youth with a platform to develop and express their artistic and creative abilities in a non-judgmental environment.  At AGC hearts are healed and lives and communities are changed,” said Wendy Raquel Robinson, Co-Founder of Amazing Grace Conservatory.

“California Arts Council grants provide vital support for projects in diverse communities across our state,” said Craig Watson, Director of the California Arts Council. “This was a historic year of state arts support. We are proud to invest more than $8.5 million in funding 712 grant projects that will stimulate local growth and prosperity, and meet the needs of our communities through deep engagement with culture and creative expression.”

The California Arts Council will continue to grow the reach of its programs in the coming year, as the result of a significant one-time state arts funding increase for 2016-17 announced last week.
