Anthony Michael Hobbs’ Short Film ‘Naga Pixie’ Gets Special Screening from Imagination Lunchbox

*Imagination Lunchbox presents a special red carpeted screening of “Naga Pixie,” the second short film of multi-award winning filmmaker/actor Anthony Michael Hobbs (Emmy nominated “The Abolitionist”) on Sunday August 14, 2016 at the Arbutus Volunteer Firehouse Community Hall from 11 a.m – 2 p.m.

Anthony Michael Hobbs is only eleven years-old but is a well accomplished actor and filmmaker. He was just nine years-old when he wrote, directed, produced and starred in his first film One Nation. Starring in both films, his first short film, One Nation, was released in 2014. The funny and uplifting film was accepted and screened at 10 national film festivals and won awards at four. One Nation is about a group of multi-racial elementary school kids who get together to do something special for veterans in their neighborhood that were coming back home from the Iraq war. In his new project Naga Pixie, where Hobbs plays Jason, who teams up with friends as he tries to figure out why Naga Pixie (played by Trinity Breanne Perio) is always nagging them about things they think are trivial such as not hurting animals and respecting nature.

The special red carpeted screening of Hobbs’ Naga Pixie will start with the arrivals of the stars, cast, and crew of the film at 11:30am – 12: 30pm and specially invited guests such as Iron Man and Baltimore’s living legend Rosa Pryor-Trusty, a former singer/musician who toured with Nate King Cole and is currently a syndicated entertainment columnist for the Afro and The Baltimore Times (“Rambling Rose”). Naga Pixie also stars Trey Feledy (Alex Hamilton), Kayla Johnson (Serena Keith), who will be in attendance, and features Danny Palmer, and Thomas Johnson who will also be in attendance. Other cast members (not attending) include Kendall Clark, Noah Thomas and Amanda Trinh. Attendees will be treated to appetizers and refreshments, meet and greet time with cast members as well as fun activities for cast members and attendees.

Anthony Michael Hobbs’ first film One Nation was screened at the Gold Coast Film Festival (Port Washington, NY); the Gary International Black Film Festival (Gary, Indiana); the Aurora Picture Show Extremely Young Film Festival (Houston); the Alhambra Theatre Film Festival (Indiana); the West Chester Film Festival (Pennsylvania); the Montclair Film Festival (New Jersey); the San Diego International Kids Film Festival, and the Ocktober Film Festival (New York). Hobbs has garnered four awards – the Alhambra Theatre Film Festival’s “Spirit Award”; the Montclair Film Festival’s “Grand Prize for Kidz Shortz”; the Ocktober Film Festival’s “Best Youth Filmmaker,” and the Gary International Black Film Festival’s “Best Youth Short.”

Global Stars Network honored Anthony with a total of six awards for his acting. His best known roles include a young Frederick Douglass in the 2013 Emmy Award nominated PBS Special Mini-Series “The American Experience: The Abolitionist” (https://video.pbs.org/video/2321796209) starring actor/director Richard Brooks (“Law & Order,” The Crow), as well as his starring role in the DreamWorks documentary “How to Train Your Dragon: Dragons and Dinosaurs” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bekKOmfsWfc).

Also a model Hobbs has appeared in national print campaigns for Finish Line athletics’ chain; Philadelphia based Urban-inspired footwear chain Villa; Charles River Apparel 2015 catalogue, and for the USDA’s Healthy Kids 2011 national print campaign.  In addition, Anthony Michael is a motivational speaker who has appeared as a guest speaker for former NFL player Joel Gamble’s (Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans) “Joel Gamble Foundation: Career Scholars Program”, and for the Root Branch Academy’s Youth Film Festival.
