*Here’s one that’s bound to get some tongues wagging. Chaka Khan had to cancel her upcoming concert at the California State Fair just days before the show. So what pray tell is the reason for that you ask? Cal Expo officials say it’s because she has entered into rehab for drug addiction.

The Sacramento Bee reports that Fair officials were contacted by Khan’s representative on Saturday, stating that the singer was entering into an addiction rehabilitation and aftercare program for addiction to prescription pain medication, according to Sabrina Rodriguez, a Cal Expo spokesperson.

The 10-time Grammy winner was scheduled to perform at the State Fair in Sacramento on Monday night. Khan’s additional performances for July were also canceled, according to the message from her representatives.

So what now?

“What ends up happening is that we get this announcement and we work on finding a suitable performance replacement as soon as we can,” Rodriguez said.

Another Grammy Award-winner … Jody Watley featuring Shalamar Reloaded … will perform in Khan’s place, conformed Rodriguez.

About 400 people had already purchased reserved seating for Khan’s concert online, according to Rodriguez. She said those individuals should receive an automatic refund within a week.

In the meantime, we wish Chaka well.
