*Earlier this month, director Rick Famuyiwa was looking to cast his “Dope” star Kiersey Clemons as Iris West in his upcoming film “The Flash.”

Welp, it’s a done deal. The actress will join star Ezra Miller in the movie, and is also rumored to be playing the character in “Justice League,” which is currently in production.

Iris West is the go-getter journalist friend of Flash’s alter-ego Barry Allen, played by Miller. Audiences got their first look at Miller as Allen this past Saturday, when Warner Bros. played a “Justice League” teaser trailer at Comic-Con.

Famuyiwa directed Clemons in her breakout role as lesbian tomboy drummer Diggy in “Dope,” a Sundance stand-out in 2015. The 22-year-old actress also played a robot in Halle Berry’s CBS series “Extant” and has a recurring role on Amazon’s “Transparent.” She also played the love interest in Trey Songz’s video for “Smartphones.”

Clemons recently appeared onscreen in Universal’s comedy sequel “Neighbors 2” and recently was cast in Columbia’s sci-fi thriller remake “Flatliners.”
