*Mattel celebrated Gabby Douglas’ 2016 Olympics qualifying run at the U.S. gymnastics team’s trials this past weekend by presenting her with a Barbie in her likeness.
Douglas became the first woman of color to win the individual all-around competition at the 2012, and to honor her accomplishments, Mattel unveiled a “Shero” Barbie on Monday. The line — which includes the likenesses of Misty Copeland, Ava DuVernay, Emmy Rossum, Eva Chen, Trisha Yearwood and Zendaya — focuses on female heroes who inspire girls by breaking boundaries.

Gabby tweeted a photo of her holding the doll along with the caption: “Excited to debut my @Barbie Shero doll! Let’s continue to break barriers&dream big,Girls! #YouCanBeAnything #Shero”

Meanwhile, Elle magazine has already crowned a new “Prince” in FKA Twigs. The singer covers the latest issue of the fashion mag, which refers to Twigs as a Brit with a “mystical aura”, “sexed up lyrics” and a “renegade style” before announcing “they call her the new Prince”.
The notoriously private performer opened up to Elle about how she remains a unique presence in an industry full clones: “People talk too much,” she says, shrugging. “Everyone’s always chatting and not delivering. I’m the opposite. I like to just deliver.”
The 28-year-old artist, who is also dating actor Robert Pattinson, talked about how “weird” it is to be so famous.
On being in the public eye, she said: “Being in the public eye is so weird. People want to shame you. It’s not a celebration of a talent.”
