Nate Parker Secures New Film Project with Legendary

*Nate Parker – the writer, director and star of the upcoming film “The Birth of a Nation” – has sold a new project to Legendary, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The title and plot are being kept under wraps, but Parker, who helmed and starred in the Sundance hit, is set to write, direct and produce the new project as well.

As previously reported, “Birth of a Nation” dominated Sundance in February, selling for a record $17.5 million to Fox Searchlight, and also winning the Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize.

The drama about slave rebellion leader Nat Turner will hit theaters in October.
