O’Jays Not Happy ‘Love Train’ was Used by Trump and RNC

*Legendary R&B group The O’Jays are not thrilled that their classic song “Love Train” was used during the Republican National Convention –  including a version remixed as “Trump Train” – without the group’s consent.

In a statement, founding members Eddie Levert and Walter Williams said that they were asked to appear at the convention in Cleveland, but rejected the offer and said the candidacy of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was “divisive and at odds with the overriding message of their song.”

Levert added, “I don’t agree, whatsoever, with Trump’s politics to the point where I think he just may be the anti-Christ.”

Williams said he didn’t appreciate being associated with Trump. On the other hand, the trio said would love to be a part of next week’s Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
