Why Adele Turned Down Offer to Perform the 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show (Watch)

Singer Adele performs on stage during her North American tour at Staples Center on August 5, 2016 in Los Angeles, California.

*Adele put a stop to recent speculation that she was in talks to headline the halftime show during the 2017 Super Bowl.

“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” she told the crowd at her Los Angeles concert on Saturday. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really — I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”

The buzz surrounding a possible Adele Super Bowl spilled onto the Web Monday after the Sun published a report citing an unnamed source that said “organizers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up.”

“She’s sold out every date on her tour, everyone wants a piece of her and they know they can bank on her bringing in the viewers,” added the source.
