Beyonce Performing At VMAs? – Tina Lawson Helps Flood Victims

Beyonce Knowles *The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on August 28, 2016 at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, and there’s hype around the hints and teases that Beyonce will hit the stage to serve a little Lemonade.

While there’s no confirmation to this speculation — three Twitter users claim to have overheard Beyonce rehearsing in an NYC studio at an undisclosed location over the weekend.

Beyoncé has a total of eleven nominations, followed by Adele, who has seven. Rihanna is set to receive the Vanguard Award, and Britney Spears will perform at the VMA’s for the first time in nearly a decade. The pop star will take the stage for the debut live performance of her comeback single, “Make Me.”

Meanwhile, Bey’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, wants everyone to reach into their pockets and dig out a little change to help Louisiana flood victims. As efforts turn from rescue to recovery, renters and homeowners who do not have flood insurance are facing an uncertain financial future, Reuters.com reports. The publication notes that FEMA has approved more than $55 million in aid so far and some 106,000 Louisiana residents have registered for emergency assistance after the record floods, which killed at least 13 and damaged more than 60,000 homes.

The Red Cross has also enlisted the help of over 1,000 volunteers from across the country to help with relief efforts, and Miss Tina also did her part by donating to the Save The Children Gulf Coast Flood Children’s Relief Fund. She took to Instagram with a message urging fans to follow her lead by donating as well. Check out her IG post below.

Tina’s daughter Solange Knowles and her grandson Julez currently reside in Louisiana, and her family originally hails from the New Orleans area.
