*The new Miramax film, “Southside With You” tells the story of how Barack and Michelle Obama began their courtship. It shows how surprisingly different the two were and how very unlikely they were to end up together.
However, their mutual passion to help others piqued interest in one another which led them to create a relationship. The film makes you want to let go of limitations because, knowing the success the Obamas attained, you see that they both decided to make each other be the best versions of themselves.

“Southside With You” stars Tika Sumpter and newcomer Parker Sawyers. It’s executive produced by John Legend who also performs the theme song, “Start” for the soundtrack. After viewing it, you’ll know why it’s no wonder this film scored big at Sundance.
