*Forest Whitaker and Kate Bosworth are set to topline “Finding Steve McQueen,” a heist flick based on the true story of Ohio thieves who, in a 1972 election year, tried to steal $30 million in illegal contributions and blackmail money from President Richard Nixon’s secret fund.

Travis Fimmel, William Fichtner, John Finn, Rhys Coiro and Louis Lombardi round out the cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Mark Steven Johnson will direct from a screenplay by Keith Sharon and Ken Hixon.

Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi’s AMBI Group is financing and producing the film with Silvio Muraglia’s Paradox Studios and Anthony Mastromauro’s Identity Films.

“I’m excited to see this caliber of talent come together on a project that has been near and dear to my heart for some time,” said Identity Films’ Mastromauro. “Mark Steven Johnson has put together a wonderful cast led by Travis Fimmel, who I believe is a movie star in the making, and I’m thrilled to have him lead a truly fantastic cast.”

Principal photography is slated to begin next month in Atlanta, Georgia.
