Griselda Blanco’s Ex Threatens to Sue HBO if He’s Mentioned In Biopic

Griselda Blanco’s Ex, Charles Cosby

*The ex-boyfriend of Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco wants no parts of HBO’s upcoming biopic of the ‘Cocaine Godmother,’ starring Jennifer Lopez. TMZ reports that Charles Cosby is planning to sue the network if there are any references to him in the upcoming film.

Griselda was known as The Black Widow, and Cosby is her only surviving boyfriend. He also narrated the documentary “Cocaine Cowboys II: Hustlin’ With the Godmother.”

Blanco ran the cocaine trafficking game from Medellin, Colombia into Miami in the 1970s, and she’s rumored to have ordered hits on dozens of her drug rivals in Miami. The murders sparked the infamous drug wars in Miami in the ’70s and ’80s, per the Daily Mail.

Cosby allegedly hooked up with Blanco after penning her a fan letter when she was sent to prison after moving to Oakland from Miami to escape assassination attempts on her life. Blanco responded to the letter by giving him her heart and later allowing him to run her $40 million-a-month cocaine empire — making Charles a multi-millionaire.

According to legend, he got out of the cocaine business for good when Blanco ordered a hit on him from prison after she learned he was cheating on her.

Blanco was released from prison and deported back to Medellin in 2004. She was shot twice in the head by an assassin on a motorcycle as she left a bodega with a friend in 2012. She was 69, and estimated to have been responsible for more than 200 murders.

“I’ve been fascinated by the life of this corrupt and complicated woman for many years,” Jennifer Lopez said in a statement about her role in HBO’s latest film project.

Cosby is not impressed with Lopez, saying she is “unconvincing with no street cred.”
