*Pregnant Keshia Knight Pulliam says her nasty divorce from Ed Hartwell gave her an idea of what middle name to give their unborn daughter.
In revealing today that her baby girl will be named Ella Grace, Pulliam explained through tears that, “In the midst of all of this was when she earned her middle name, Grace.”
“When I tell you through all of this the grace of God has so been with us and has covered us and protected us, and she’s been my saving grace to get through it — just knowing that it’s not about me” Pulliam said on Friday’s edition of her podcast, Kandidly Keshia.
The pregnant “Cosby Kid” split from Hartwell earlier this summer, just seven months after they got married and a week after Pulliam announced her pregnancy. She was reportedly blindsided by Hartwell’s divorce filing, and Hartwell has publicly doubted that he is the baby’s father.
As for her daughter’s first name, Pulliam said she always planned on Elle, but that a series of signs pointed her to the name Ella instead.
“I had a dream and she came to me … and referred to herself as Ella and not Elle,” Pulliam said of the first sign. “Then I went to … a civil rights exhibit and one of the women who was at the forefront of the civil rights movement, who a lot of people don’t know about, her name was Ella.”
Pulliam is due in January.
