*FOX 5 Reporter Lisa Evers, Host of “Street Soldiers,” heard on HOT 97 & seen on FOX 5, moderated a panel about one of the most crucial issues in our country: Police – Community Relations.

The celebrity panel included a diversity of opinions, from Hip Hop artists, to community activists and included a former NYPD lieutenant. (See photos and flier attached) The “Street Soldiers” Push 4 Peace Town Hall was last Saturday, but the show will broadcast on FOX 5 in New York this Saturday, August 6th at 10:30pm.

Part 2 will air on Saturday, August 20th at 10:30pm.

About Lisa Evers

Evers interviewed such celebrities as Derek Jeter, Jay-Z, and 50 Cent. She occasionally hosts FOX 5’s public affairs show, “Good Day Street Talk” on topical issues. In addition to television, Evers hosts a weekly #1 rated community affairs talk show on New York’s Hot 97 FM radio station.

With the support of FOX 5 and HOT 97, she led a drive that brought a truckload of new clothes, sneakers and toys to survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Most recently, along with the Hip Hop Has Heart Foundation, she helped organize a major relief effort in the Rockaways following Super Storm Sandy.

Prior to FOX 5, Evers was a general assignment reporter for 1010 WINS, the nation’s #1 news radio station. She reported live from Ground Zero on September 11, and for many days following the terror attacks. She began at WINS as a freelance reporter, and was also working for CNN Radio Network, and the ABC Radio Network.
