*“The View” will have a brand new theme song when it returns for its 20th season on Sept. 6, thanks to the vocal talents of Mary J. Blige.
The full lineup of hosts — Whoopi Goldberg, Raven-Symone, Joy Behar, Candace Cameron Bure, Paula Faris and new permanent co-host Sara Haines — appear in the music video for the talk show’s new theme song, “World’s Gone Crazy.”
Blige laces the track penned by current Emmy nominee Diane Warren. Contributing co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Jedediah Bila also appear in the video, which shows the ladies dancing and frolicking about.
Apparently Whoopi wasn’t available (or wasn’t about to frolic) for the main shoot. She appears separately in the video’s first and final scenes, on the phone with Mary.
“I have a really strange idea for a music video,” she tells the singer at the outset, while positioned upside down on her couch.
