The Grammy winning singer, last seen on TV in NBC’s “The Wiz Live!,” will appear on ABC this fall in the upcoming third season of “How To Get Away With Murder,” according to Deadline.com.

Details surrounding her character and the Season 3 storyline are being kept under wraps, but in an earlier interview with Deadline’s AwardsLine blog, star Viola Davis said there will be “a new mystery” next season, “and it’s going to be presented very quickly in the first episode.” Davis also added, with that new mystery, creator Pete Nowalk “explores the relationships in a much deeper way.”

Blige is steadily expanding her acting resume. She just wrapped director Dee Rees’ “Mudbound” alongside Jason Mitchell, Jason Clarke, Garrett Hedlund and Carey Mulligan. She earned a Critics’ Choice TV Award nomination for her role as Evillene in “The Wiz Live!” and also appeared in the Season 1 finale of ABC’s hit comedy series “black-ish.”
