*The lies of Olympic swimmers Ryan Lochte and his partner in crime, James Feigen, have not only caught the attention of millions around the world, but civil rights activist Najee Ali who has some thoughts on the situation. Basically it’s all about “White Privilege.” But first, he sets the stage with this reminder:
At the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City John Carlos and Tommie Smith gave the black power salute to protest the inhumane and racist treatment of African-Americans by a system of white supremacy. They were kicked out of the Olympic Village by the U.S Olympic Committee officials and sent home. Not much has changed with white supremacy.

Fast forward to (literally) today …
Olympic gold medal winner Ryan Lochte lied when he said he was robbed by Rio Police. (Easy for white people to always lie on people of color).
Olympic officials rushed to defend Lochte in a media statement that in part said “Boys will be boys. John Carlos and Tommie Smith are true Olympic heroes. Ryan Lochte is a liar, and criminal who committed an act of vandalism and has been indicted for false reporting of a crime. He brought shame and disgrace to our country.
