*Larry Wilmore began his long goodbye last night on “The Nightly Show.”

After learning Monday that Comedy Central will cancel his program after Thursday’s broadcast, Wilmore made his first on-screen comments about the decision. “The show was at our best when the news was at its worst,” he told the crowd.

“Our show going off the air has to mean one thing,” he joked. “Racism is solved’

Wilmore’s program prided itself on discussing issues with people from different races and backgrounds who weren’t being represented on late night. Wilmore’s running theme was for guests to “keep it 100.”

“We wanted to have a conversation on some very tough subjects, and we’ve had a lot of fun doing just that,” Wilmore told his viewers Monday night.

The host went on to lash out at Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump, and urged viewers to support Hillary Clinton in the coming election.

“Donald Trump has stopped being funny, stopped being outrageous, he’s stopped being politically incorrect. He’s just downright dangerous,” Wilmore said.

“And, the worst of it is, he’s just a liar. And I don’t want to hear ‘Hillary Clinton is a liar too!’ That is a false equivalency….Hillary Clinton is a very smart and capable politician, who many people don’t trust because she spends too much time lawyer-ing her words so she doesn’t lose votes, instead of telling us what she actually…thinks. Donald Trump is a psychopathic narcissist who not only has the hands of an infant, he has the mind of one….Donald Trump is an existential threat to America.”

Wilmore said his only regret about the program going off the air this week is that he and his staff “won’t be around to cover this truly insane election season.”
