*A racist recently took ignorance to a whole new level by misspelling the racial slur that he or she keyed into the hood of a black woman’s car in Brooklyn.

Julie Dorneval, an African-American woman who lives in Canarsie, said she found the misspelled slur — “niger” instead of “n—-r” — carved into the hood of her Infiniti SUV Friday.

According to the New York Daily News, the car had been parked in her driveway for more than a month, she said. Dorneval, a rehab center worker whose husband died last year at age 64, said she largely keeps to herself and doesn’t interact with her neighbors. She said she had no idea who would want to demean her.

“It was a truly wicked thing to do,” Dorneval told The News. “I’ve been living here for 20 years, and I’ve never had a problem with racism. I’ve never seen nothing like this.”

“It’s very strange. I’m not very scared because I don’t really know people in the area that would have targeted me,” she said.

Initially, she was reluctant to involve the cops, she said.

“I wasn’t going to call the police, but my daughter told me I had to take this seriously, because it’s a hate crime. And now it will cost me something like $400 to fix my car,” she said.
