T.I.’s Scales 925 Restaurant Caught Up in Million Dollar Eviction Drama

T.I.

*T.I. has allegedly been hit with an eviction notice for his Scales 925 restaurant after the landlord claims he hasn’t paid rent in months, according to the Atlanta Daily World.

The YBF also reports that the landlord allegedly went on local Atlanta station WSBTV making claims that the rapper and his business partner Charles Hughes owe more than $1 million dollars in back rent.

T.I. posted a pic of Hughes along with a scathing write-up about him on Instagram, warning, “He is NOT associated with me or my company in any capacity. We have NO dealings or partnerships outside of my restaurant . . . which was a HUGE mistake in hindsight.”

T.I. Responds

This eviction news comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed by some of T.I.’s former employees at Scales 925, who claim they are owed back pay. They also accuse Tip and his business partner of depositing funds from the restaurant into their personal bank account, causing paychecks to bounce.

A rep said at the time, “We take allegations like this seriously and are looking into the matter.”

According to the AJC:

The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Atlanta by employees Chrysten Wright, Monique Simms, Kurel Scott, Ongeli McMillan, Whitley Middleton, Sammy Davis, Jenair Perry, Millan Rodrigo, Shomari Davis, Keandra Daniels, DeMarquis Denson, and Cashara Tate against T.I., known in court documents as Clifford Harris Jr., his business partner Charles Hughes, and the restaurant management group.

In their complaint, the former employees allege that the eatery deleted overtime from the restaurant’s payroll software, and that the software would delete hours or not keep track of hours exceeding 40 hours per week. Employees were also “coerced to work off the clock.”

An August 8 post on Scales 925’s Facebook page indicated the restaurant has come under new management.
