EUR on the Scene: The BET Hip Hop Awards 2016 (Green Carpet Video Interviews)

*The 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards which were held at the Cobb Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta on Saturday, September 17 had a lot of fashion, bling, performances and of course cyphers.

EURweb associate Kiki Ayers hit the green carpet to catch up with the celeb attendees. Fat Joe, Sway, Blac Youngster, Jeezy and The Dream were just a few of the many artists that stopped by to talk all things hip hop.

Joe who had the anthem of the summer “All The Way Up,” featuring Remy Ma told us how he went about getting HOVA himself Jay Z on the remix.

“It’s been on my bucket list and that’s her [Remy Ma’s] favorite rapper so it was a honor to work with him.”

Sway who is best known for exclusive rap interviews on MTV and his morning show “Sway In The Morning,” shared his perception on the evolution of rap.

“I don’t think it’s changed as much as people think because there was always diversity and variety,” he said. “Right now there’s an argument about the styles of rap because you have artists like a Kendrick or a J.Cole or a Big Sean that are more lyrical.”

The radio Killa himself “The Dream,” told us his next venture will be to write a movie. “I want to write everything. It’s hard enough trying to stuff what I think in 3 minutes and 30 seconds to make a hit song so if I had a hr and a half I think I can actually accomplish something in the world.

EURweb also had the opportunity to watch the show filming. Highlights included Snopp Dogg being presented with the “I AM Hip Hop Award,” spoken word performances from LeCrae which shined light on Black Lives Matter and police brutality and a cyphers which included an appearance by Kevin Hart.

The 2016 BET Hip Hop Awards will air October 4th. For more exclusives from the show, check out the official website, here.
