WASHINGTON / PRNewswire/ —Â Imagine entering Carnegie Library in Washington, DC and it’s filled with the works of renowned artists, entertainers and amazing people celebrating art, history and the Congressional Black Caucus’ 46th Annual Legislative Conference. The Harlem Fine Arts Show (HFAS) will make the aforementioned dream a reality, come September 15-18th!
“Hosting the Harlem Fine Arts Show in the Nation’s Capital is one of the highlights of our year,” said Dion Clarke, founder of the HFAS. “As always, the show will feature some of the most prolific and sought-after artists of color in the world, but the show takes on a heightened significance as we are in the nation’s capital during the final year of Barack Obama’s presidency.”
For four spectacular days the Harlem Fine Arts Show will showcase works of over 50 national artists and galleries. Attendees will have an opportunity to engage with such artists as Woodrow Nash, Manuelita Brown, Ted Ellis and a host of others. The weekend’s events were created to cultivate stimulating conversations, encourage artistic exploration, while weaving together fine art, culture & music for an unforgettable experience. | Thursday: | Opening Night Gala Reception in collaboration with Old Dominion Foundation, Incorporated in partnership with Old Dominion (VA) Chapter, The Links, Incorporated & Lincoln University Alumni Association will feature a live art auction and serve as the official unveiling location of the first bronze bust to honor Congressman John J. Conyers, Jr. |
| Friday: | Youth Empowerment Day (closed to general public) will bring in students enrolled in DC Public Schools to experience the Harlem Fine Arts Show Free of Charge. |
| Art & Hip Hop Night will display how art and music succinctly co-exists with paint performances by Patcasso and music with DJ Quick Silva. | |
| Saturday:  | Lecture on the “value of art and generating wealth through art collection”. And a special screening of the film “An Unexpected History –The Story of Hennessy and African Americans”. |

Washington, DC is the fourth stop of the traveling arts show’s five city tour of contemporary paintings, sculpture and photography, and is the largest of its kind to feature African Diaspora art.
