Heartbreaking: Sobbing Girl, 9, Scolds Charlotte City Council: ‘I Can’t Stand How We’re Treated’ (Watch)

*During a city council open forum in Charlotte, North Carolina, 9-year-old Zianna Oliphant tearfully begged for an end to the violence and discrimination African Americans in her community face.

Her plea comes in the wake of the Keith Lamont Scott shooting by police and subsequent protests.

“I’ve been born and raised in Charlotte and I’ve never felt this way ‘til now,” said Oliphant, with tears running down her face. “And I can’t stand how we’re treated.

“It’s a shame that our fathers and mothers are killed and we can’t even see them anymore. It’s a shame that we have to go to their graveyard and bury them. We have tears and we shouldn’t have tears.

She added: “We shouldn’t have to protest because yall are treating us wrong. We do this because we need to and have rights.
