*Jennifer Hudson will occupy one of the four red swivel chairs on the U.K. version of singing competition show “The Voice,” reports Variety.
The Oscar and Grammy-winning artist joins fellow coaches Tom Jones, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale and will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas on the show, which will air on ITV after the network nabbed the British rights from the BBC.
“Discovering new artists has always been important to me, and the U.K. has no shortage of talent, so I can only imagine what this experience will be like for everyone involved,” Hudson said. “I can’t wait to get going and start developing each individual’s own sound.”
Hudson and Rossdale will be making their debuts on the show while both Jones and will.i.am have served as coaches in the past. Jones was a coach on the first four seasons of the U.K. version of the show, while will.i.am has appeared on every season.
The new season of “The Voice UK,” presented by Emma Willis, will air early next year.
Ironically, Hudson first found fame on singing competition series “American Idol,” after which her self-titled debut album sold 1.1 million copies.
