*“Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris and producer Vijal Patel are developing a political family comedy for ABC to star “American Crime” standout Felicity Huffman, reports Deadline.

The as-yet-untitled single-cam comedy, co-written by Barris, is about a politically divided interracial couple who are rival pundits on their own TV show “Black & Wright.”

Despite their differences on the job (one’s black, one’s white; one’s left, one’s right), the couple has to turn conflict into compromise when it comes to raising their kids. Huffman, who is also attached as an exec producer, will play the wife. The husband is yet-to-be-cast.

Barris and Patel are both under overall deals at ABC Studios, which is producing the comedy.

This is the second high-profile sale for Barris and his Khalabo Ink Society this season. Also at ABC, Barris executive produces action dramedy “Unit Zero,” starring/executive produced by Toni Collette and written by another “Black-ish” writer-producer, Lindsey Shockley. David Gordon Green is attached to direct.

In addition to ABC’s “American Crime,” which is heading into its third season, Huffman is also an alum of the network’s “Desperate Housewives.”
