*A major shakeup has happened with Fox’s upcoming Lee Daniels drama “Star” ahead of its winter premiere.

Showrunner Charles Murray has suddenly quit, according to TVLine.com. Sources say the split was amicable after Murray had a different creative vision for the series than Daniels and co-creator Tom Donaghy (“Sons of Anarchy”).

A search is currently underway to replace Murray.

“Star” is scheduled to premiere this season when Daniels’ other Fox series “Empire” goes on its holiday break.

As previously reported, the Atlanta-set drama revolves around three girls (newcomers Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady) who come together to form a singing group. Benjamin Bratt and Queen Latifah headline the series.

Daniels and Donaghy co-wrote the pilot episode.
