*Though accusations and tabloid headlines thrown at him, Mickey “Memphitz” Wright looks to be in a different state of mind amid all the turmoil. So much so that it looks like he’s coming full circle to being his own artist again with making his own decisions in regards to the direction of his professional and personal life.
After relocating to LA from Atlanta, the music producer, artist and entrepreneur sat down exclusively with EURweb’s Lee Bailey and opened up completely on how accusations of him physically abusing his ex-K. Michelle almost prevented him from taking part in “Marriage Bootcamp” with then-wife Toya Wright as well as his thoughts on suing the “Can’t Raise a Man” vocalist
“She’s claiming that I hit her and I think I need to go nip that in the bud. That is bad. That’s almost as bad as I saying you raped somebody in America,” Wright said.
“She’s [Toya] like, ‘Nah. That’s disrespectful. I think you should let it go. You should sue. You should just sue… I can’t say it was bad advice. I can’t say it was good advice because neither one of us knew. But I took resentment to it once I had to actually for the third time call [Monami Entertainment CEO] Mona [Scott-Young] and say I can’t do the show. It would be disrespectful to my wife.”
While he initially thought about doing the show, something inside Wright caused him to have a change of heart.
“Something in me was like, ‘You just got married. You’ve been kind of running over girls, maybe not being that guy for girls your whole life in relationships. Now you’re married. What would your dad do for your mom? He would take the hit.”
