Perry’s latest TV projects include “Too Close for Home” on TLC — a series he has been heavily criticized for because of its all white cast. When EUR/Electronic Urban Report caught up with him last month at the Los Angeles screening of the show, we asked Perry about the overall message, and what he hopes viewers take away.

“For me, everything that I have ever done has always been about family, faith, forgiveness, and a lot of those things run through this show as well,” Perry told us. “The overall message is, no mater where you come and go, no matter how far you try to travel, no matter how far you try to get away from life, it all comes back to you. You have to face everything that you’ve left behind in some kind of way. If you didn’t leave it right, if it’s not cleaned up in the right way, if it wasn’t done right, some kind of way it’s going to show up in your life again.”

In addition to reprising the role of Madea in “Boo! A Madea Halloween” in October, Perry will next be seen in Paramount’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” sequel as the villain “Baxter Stockman.” He will also star opposite Chloe Moretz in the independent film “Brain on Fire,”
