Billy Bush is History at NBC Thanks to Vulgar Trump Tape (Video)

*NBC today decided they didn’t need the services of Billy Bush in the wake him being heard on tape having a very vulgar conversation about women with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump prior to an “Access Hollywood” appearance.

As we reported earlier, Bush was suspended from NBC’s “Today” show two days after the 2005 tape was reported on Oct. 7 by the Washington Post. NBC and Bush’s representatives had been negotiating terms of his exit before Monday’s announcement.

On the tape, Bush is heard laughing as Trump talks about fame enabling him to grab women “in the p***y.” as well as trying to have sex with women outside of his marriage.

Bush later said he was “embarrassed and ashamed.” Meanwhile, so far, almost a dozen women have come forward to say Trump did to them – or attempted to do them – some of the things he spoke about on the tape. He has since denied the claims.

According to Deadline, NBC’s news division is said to have paid Bush nicely to get itself disassociated from the storyline in which Bush sets up a hug between Trump and an NBC-employed actress the two men had pronounced “hot as sh*t,” immediately after Trump bragged about his ability to grope attractive women with impunity because he’s so rich.

In the lead up to the announcement that Bush was out, Melania Trump taped an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper to air tonight, in which she blamed Bush for having “egged on” her husband to make those taped boasts. Melania Trump also said the release of the tape on the eve of the second presidential debate is part of a conspiracy between the media and Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

The Deadline story also mentions that “hotshot litigator Marshall Grossman swatted down a report late last week that his client had agreed to take $10M to cash him out of his contract, insisting no such deal had been reached. About half that payout is more accurate, sources say.”

If you’re wondering, yes, Billy Bush is the nephew of Republican former President George H.W. Bush. He transferred from NBC’s syndicated entertainment property “Access Hollywood” after 15 years to the “Today” show in August of this year.

NBC made the announcement of his firing in a note from NBC News Senior VP Noah Oppenheim to his staff. Oppenheim called Bush ”a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family”

Oppenheim added:

“We wish him success as he goes forward.”
