*Shad Moss, aka Bow Wow, claims BET is running out of money, which explains why the cable network is trying to take advantage of actress Gabrielle Union, star of its hit drama series “Being Mary Jane.”

As previously reported, Union is suing BET and Breakdown Productions for breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation, according to a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

In court documents obtained by E! News, Union’s attorney, Marty Singer, alleges BET is trying to film two 10-episode seasons of “Being Mary Jane” back-to-back in an effort to “cram all of the episodes into a single season in order to fraudulently extend the term of Ms. Union’s contract.”

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Moss wrote “The network running out of money man…. won’t be no more hip hop awards either. Mark my words.”

He made the statement in response to Gabrielle‘s breach of contract lawsuit, in which she claims BET wants to pay her less money per episode than contractually agreed upon by combining seasons 4 and 5. Union’s contract calls for BET to pay her $165,000 per episode in season 5 of “Being Mary Jane.”

“The network running out of money man…. won’t be no more hip hop awards either. Mark my words. Also when folks saw the exit to get out of there they ran to REVOLT. BET don’t even have the staff that kept them hot and made them who they were. Its people behind the scenes you’ll never know who came up with the shows that made BET WHAT IT WAS> It’s a new day now. They can’t compete with the worldstar viewers.”

Many were surprised by Bow Wow’s comments, considering he was once dubbed “Mr. 106 & Park” because of his frequent appearances on BET’s cancelled music video show.
