Eddie Murphy to Receive Career Achievement Honor at Hollywood Film Awards

*Eddie Murphy will be honored with a career achievement award at the 20th annual Hollywood Film Awards.

The “Saturday Night Live” alum has cemented his iconic status in Hollywood with such films as “Beverly Hills Cop,” “The Nutty Professor” and “Trading Places.” He was nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar for his role in “Dreamgirls,” for which he earned a Golden Globe.

Murphy is already generating Academy Award buzz for his next role in the real-life drama “Mr. Church.”

Past recipients of the HFA honor include Harrison Ford, Richard Gere, Glenn Close and Dustin Hoffman.

James Corden will host the event, which is being produced by Dick Clark Productions.

The Hollywood Film Awards are scheduled to be held on Nov. 6 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
