*The slayage was real at the White House Tuesday night when First Lady Michelle Obama emerged in a breathtaking $12,000 rose gold chainmail Versace gown for her last state dinner ever.

The dress was custom-designed for her by Donatella Versace, who said she was “humbled and honored” to have the opportunity to dress the First Lady.

Alongside a dapper President Obama, the pair hosted visiting Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife Agnese Landini.

The gown sports asymmetrical. The gown featured shimmery bodice detail, off-the-shoulder sleeves, with the dress draping down her chest before gathering at the waist — which FLOTUS accented with her hair straight down.

“Today is bittersweet for Michelle and I because this marks the final official visit and state dinner of my presidency,” President Obama said earlier in the day,. “But it’s OK. We saved the best for last.”

The guest list included celebrity guests Roberto Benigni, Jerry Seinfeld, Giorgio Armani, Naeem Khan, Savannah Guthrie, Gayle King and an evening-ending duet from lovebirds Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton.

Mario Batali collaborated with White House Executive Chef Cris Comerford and White House Executive Pastry Chef Susan Morrison for a menu that featured the best of American produce prepared with Italian flair.

Earlier on Tuesday, FLOTUS wore a knee-length Giambattista Valli dress to give Landini a tour of her garden.
