Maryam Simpson charged

Meanwhile, a feisty New Jersey hairstylist who police say pepper-sprayed a dissatisfied client has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon, New York Daily News reports.

35-year-old Maryam Simpson, who goes by “Freddy” on Craigslist to advertise her hair-cutting and styling services, fled her client’s apartment before cops could arrive after she pepper sprayed the woman when she expressed her dissatisfaction with her haircut, police said.

After a police search for Simpson, she was arrested on Oct. 24 and released after posting bail, which was set at $35,000, with a 10 percent option. Police say she also had an active warrant in Rutherford.

The client was treated at her apartment for injuries sustained during the incident.
