*BET will take viewers into the black college experience with its upcoming scripted series “The Quad.”

Due in January 2017, the series stars Anika Noni Rose as Dr. Eva Fletcher (Rose), an ambitious and troubled newly elected president of the fictional Georgia A&M University. She is charged with trying to save her prestigious HBCU from bankruptcy while simultaneously trying to save her marriage.

“The Quad,” also starring Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Jasmine Guy, Peyton Alex Smith and Sean Blakemore, promises to take viewers inside the unique, tradition-filled world of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Based on a concept created by Rob Hardy, “The Quad” was created by Felicia D. Henderson and Charles Holland.

Folks in New York can catch the premiere on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m., at The Paley Center in NYC.

After the screening, a panel, including key cast and crew from the series, will discuss the upcoming show as well as the importance of HBCUs in American culture. Expected to attend are: Anika Noni Rose, Peyton Alex Smith, Jasmine Guy and Rob Hardy. Additional panelists to be announced.
