*Hulu is teaming with producers DeVon Franklin, Tony Krantz and MGM TV to develop a series based on Pam Grier’s 1974 blaxploitation classic “Foxy Brown,” with Franklin’s wife Meagan Good to take on the lead role, reports Deadline.com.

Malcolm Spellman (“Empire”) and Ben Watkins (“Burn Notice:) will pen the TV adaptation, described by Deadline as “a modern reimagining” of the 74 movie and its enduring title character.

The original film plot had Grier’s Foxy Brown seeking revenge for the murder of her boyfriend by a drug syndicate.

The Foxy role has been a passion for Good. She also will serve as a producer on the series. Her husband is executive producing via his Franklin Entertainment, and Krantz through his Flame Ventures.

On the film side, Franklin and Krantz are also partnering on the adaptation of another classic MGM property, Cooley High.

Good previously starred in the NBC drama “Deception” and Fox’s “Minority Report,” and recurred on CBS’ “Code Black.” She will next be seen headlining the Lifetime movie “Love By the 10th Date,” which premieres on Jan 28, and the feature film “Deuces.”

Earlier this year, Good published her first book, bestseller The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love, which she co-wrote with Franklin.
