*The pilot flying the plane that left only a handful of survivors and 67 dead, including the Brazilian soccer team, made a frantic plea to Colombian pilots for authorization to land because his plane had run out of fuel.

A recording of the last few moments before the plane descended and crashed into a mountain was obtained by Colombia media and is said to have confirmed statements made by a surviving flight attendant, as well as a pilot who had been flying in close proximity and heard the pilots desperate cries.

The pilot was speaking with a female controller, who reportedly told him to wait another seven minutes because another plane with mechanical problems had priority.

With each moment the pilot became more desperate and finally  screamed “Complete electrical failure, without fuel,” only minutes before the aircraft began to spiral out of control.

The pilot had been flying at 9,000 feet when he made one final plea saying, “Vectors senorita. Vectors landing!”
